Paying your health insurance premiums and medical bills can feel like a hassle, but UnitedHealthcare offers several convenient options to pay online or automatically. As one of the largest health insurers in the U.S., UnitedHealthcare aims to make the payment process simple for over 50 million members. This article will explain the various ways to pay a UnitedHealthcare bill online through their website or mobile app.
Ways to Pay Your UnitedHealthcare Bill
Pay One-Time through QuickPay
The easiest way to make a one-time payment is through UnitedHealthcare’s QuickPay. You don’t need an account – just the member ID and date of birth. QuickPay allows you to pay a premium for yourself or someone else in just a few clicks on UnitedHealthcare’s website.
Set Up Automatic Payments
For regular premium payments, automatic deductions can save you time and money on postage. On myuhc.com, you can sign up for auto-pay from a bank account, credit card, or debit card. Another option is to use the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) form to withdraw premiums directly from a checking account.
You can also arrange to have premiums taken out of Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board benefit checks by filling out their deduction form. This deducts payments automatically but may withdraw more than needed if you have other coverage too.
Pay Monthly with a Bill
If you prefer to mail payments yourself, UnitedHealthcare will send a monthly premium bill. You can submit one payment or make advance payments for the year.
When paying by mail, make sure to include your bill and write the member ID on the check.

-
Keep your member ID handy to reference on any mailed payments.
-
Pay the full balance due each month unless you have made partial payment arrangements.
-
Contact UnitedHealthcare if you need to discuss alternate payment plans.
-
Sign up for paperless billing to receive bills electronically rather than through postal mail.
Paying health insurance bills can feel tedious, but UnitedHealthcare offers flexible online and mobile options. By setting up automatic payments or making one-time payments through their website or app, you can easily pay your UnitedHealthcare bill digitally. Consistently paying premiums on time preserves continuous coverage and financial peace of mind.
Monthly bill payment
- You can pay by mail each month (we will provide you a monthly bill). You can also make advance payments. If making a payment for the entire year, you will only need to submit one bill along with a check for the total premium amount due for the year.
Note: Whatever payment option you choose — Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Social Security check withholding or monthly bill — will apply to your entire premium. In other words, you cannot pay part of the premium with a benefit check and part with a personal check or automatic withdrawal.
1 If you are receiving help from a plan sponsor (former employer, union or trust administrator) or State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP) you have the right to elect automatic deductions from your Social Security benefit check. However, it is important that you know that Social Security does not know if you have other coverage that pays part of your premium, even when the other coverage is paying part of your premium to your prescription drug plan. If you choose to have your payments automatically deducted from your Social Security benefit check, the deductions for the premiums will be higher than they should be. Your Prescription Drug Plan will need to give you a refund for the premium amount paid by your other coverage. You may experience delays in obtaining a refund for the excess amounts.
